Thoughts

Primarily if we’re going to define home, it’s a place which we call a house or apartment where a family lives that has a sense of belonging, and beyond that structure, it represents an emotional base of affection.

I want to add and elaborate more of that when it comes to friends.

Aside from my family being my home, I call my friends a home too.

A very good friend of mine told me that we meet people exactly the way we need them, or in other words, we meet people who portray different roles in our lives that will help us become a better person.

She is right. As time goes by, I can easily tell which ones are genuine and which ones are not.

The friends that I have now give me this in-between feeling that makes me realize that small bonds shared together creates a big impact that I can hold onto when life gets a bit overwhelming. You can be anything in front of them without getting judge, you can share good news without them being jealous, hard times becomes lighter, and most of all, you can just be you.

Being surrounded by good set of friends is what I love because they keep showing me how good life gets— by showing what hobbies they love, what they are up to, their favorites and point of views in life. It feels like they are letting me inside their own world. How cool is that, right?

Consideration plays a major role in maintaining friendships. It’s not always about you— you need to think of others as well. They say no man is an island and maybe that’s the whole point. It basically connects the idea of life is a journey where each chapter includes the people you meet along the way.

By being true to yourself, you are attracting genuine people that will make your life more meaningful. And besides, if you’re not being your true self, then who are you showing others?

May you find a home in the life that you build with your friends too.
